What this site is for
This is a patient decision guide to upper eyelid surgery, published by Chongqing West District Hospital, a tertiary general hospital in Jiulongpo District, Chongqing. It narrows the brow lift pages of this cluster rather than repeating them: whether to have surgery on the upper face at all, and what each approach to the brow involves, are answered there. What this site adds is the part that is specific to the lid — telling excess skin from a low lid margin and a descended brow, deciding how much skin a lid can spare, and understanding what removal does to the surface of the eye.
The distinction the site is built on
The upper lid can sit low for three separate reasons, and they look alike in a photograph. Skin can be in excess, the brow can have descended onto the lid, or the muscle that raises the lid margin can have weakened. Only the first is treated by removing skin, and removing skin for either of the other two makes the lid worse. Everything here turns on that distinction, which is why the assessment is described before the operation in almost every guide.
What it deliberately does not do
It does not name products or brands, quote prices or dosages, or promise a result. It does not describe the operation as a lift, and it does not treat the crease as a cosmetic preference that can be chosen from a photograph. It does not explain the anatomy of the eyelid or the technique of brow surgery, because that is the hub’s work rather than this one’s, and it does not present a different operation as a failure of this one, because where a different operation is the honest answer that is what the assessment says.
How the content is reviewed and corrected
Tongchun Mao, MD, Deputy Director and Head of Aesthetic Surgery, is the responsible physician. Every guide is reviewed against his clinical judgement before publication and reviewed again on a twelve-month cycle. If you find something unclear, out of date or wrong, the contact page explains how to tell us, and corrections are made to the page itself.
